On Tuesday, Zydus Lifesciences received final approval from the US health regulator to market their generic version of Bisoprolol fumarate tablets. The drug is used to treat high blood pressure. The US Food and Drug Administration approved bisoprolol fumarate of strengths 5mg and 10mg.

Zydus Lifesciences Ltd. in a regulatory filing stated that the drug will be manufactured at the formulation manufacturing facility at SEZ, Ahmedabad, and will be distributed by Viona Pharmaceuticals Inc. Bisoprolol fumarate tablets are used to treat hypertension either alone or in combination with other high blood pressure medications.
